Ratatouille- Rebecca Culbreth

I recently saw the Disney movie Ratatouille, which adresses on more than one occasion, the displeasure of humans with rats. While I understand that rats are dirty and full of disease and they can cause many different problems for humans, they are still here for a reason. The same is true for snakes; they are so hated by other people that no one gives them the time of day and is thankful for what they do. Shouldn't humans have a little more respect for wild animals... and the wild itself? Fears are understandable and often justified, but that doesn't change the fact that every living thing plays a role and does something important. I think that we all need to respect nature more, no matter how scary and gross it can be.
