Axis mundi can be seen both in a large scale and well as a smaller one. Large groups of people that all have similar beliefs will have a certain gathering point to share in their bond where the connection to a higher plane is the strongest. Individual people have their own axis mundi which helps them focus and relax. It's not as much as connecting with a higher being spiritually as it is focusing ones own self and recuperating. these individual axis mundi range from sitting alone in a back yard on a quiet evening to being on top of a mountain surrounded by the world. This is the smaller scale of axis mundi and every one has a place even if they don't know it.
