Chelsea Ottaviani- Natural Setting of Bloomsburg
When thinking about natural settings, nothing comes to mind more clearly than that of my father's home town of Bloomsburg Pennsylvania. There is something so naturally beautiful about that place that strikes me into awe everytime I visit. I have been more times than I can count on both my hands and feet yet I still find something new and beautiful about it everytime. Bloomsburg is hidden away in the valley of the Susquehanna River. It is surrounded by mountains that are covered in lush trees for as far as the eye can see. In the summer time they are bright and green. In the fall they are thousands of shades of orange and red. The spring time the leaves are back to green with patches of color from differnt bloomings of flowers. At night time the trees light up like christmas trees withfire flies- its almost as if they mirror the clear starry sky. The last trip I took my father took me up to a lookout point; I had never seen so much beauty in a place I found so familiar. When I looked over the city from the top of the point it was as if I were looking at it for the first time. Everything seemed greener and more beautiful than ever before. A town that is so tiny and familiar seemed so distant and new to me that I was completley enamored in this new perspective. I will never forget the way the town looked that day, and I cannot wait to see what other beauty I will uncover in later visits.
