The Beach -- Peter Michalski
One saturday night a few weeks ago my friends and i were so bored we began to hit our heads against the wall. We were frustrated because it was a saturday night and we were at college doing nothing. At around midnight the idea to go to Virginia beach came up and we all got into our cars and headed out. When we finally arrived we spent a good fourty minutes driving in circles looking for parking with no luck. Up and down the street we went becoming more and more frustrated with out situation. We finally found a spot near some residential houses away from the main part of town were everything was dark and the only sound was the wind blowing. As soon as we arrived on the beach we all knew that the car ride along with finding parking was worth it. we all dashed around enjoying the freedom present to us on the dark beach. The wind was freezing and the temperature of the water was inviting enough that a few of us decided to get in. we stripped to whatever would stay on to bashing of the waves and rushed in to get out of the freezing wind. The ocean never felt better in my life before. It wasn't because the water was so warm compared to the wind but because it gave the feeling of so much freedom. there i was in the middle of the night at a beach in the freezing cold swimming with no one to tell what to do. It was like everything that constrained me was being washed away by the water and leaving nothing but me.
