Cameron Browne- God's Creation

Lane’s book Landscapes of the Sacred, states “That Lakota was a true naturalist-a lover of nature. He loved the earth and all things of the earth, the attachment growing with age. The old people came literally to love the soil and they sat or reclined on the ground with a feeling of being close to a mothering power. It was good for the skin to touch the earth and the old people like to remove their moccasins and walk with bare feet on the sacred earth” (Lane 79). This passage hit my heart. To be one with the earth is a special feeling of importance. The earth is a sacred place that God created for humans and animals to enjoy and love as he does. Being one with the earth like taking off our shoes and covering your feet with sand or grass, it is a sacred feeling to ones heart and mind. Laying down on the cold earth looking up into the vast sky one can only imagine the length of the universe above. To love the earth is what God wanted us to do just like he does and the pollution in the earth now a days is hurting God’s wonderful creation. So with that said let’s try to conserve our resources and make this world a better place.
