Over the summer i received a book for my birthday titled Alaska. I was going to Alaska that summer so my parents thought it would be good idea to give me a book about peoples adventures and near death experiences in Alaska. Ive only read a few of the stories so far but the ones i have read really made me realize how overpowering nature is. no matter what humans do nature will be able to over take everything we've created. The only reason everything is still in working condition is because we maintain it. In areas like Alaska where nature seems to be more wild the danger is increased. Virginia has the same capability of danger just on a different level. we feel safe because we think we have some control over theses things but really we don't. we tend to take too many things for granted so when disaster strikes we're devastated.
